About Our Role

• Lead a team of Warehouse & Logistics Operators within a food manufacturing environment
• Permanent, full-time day work position at Simplot Bathurst
• Monday - Friday day work 0700 - 1530hrs 
• Base hourly rate of $40.93 + site allowances, where applicable
• RDO accruals

Here at Simplot Bathurst, we're seeking suitable experienced applicants for the permanent full-time, leadership focused position of Warehouse Team Leader.  Simplot Bathurst employs over 250 people and having been a part of the local community since 1926, continues to produce Edgell products, as well as products for Birds Eye and Chiko.  An investment of $90 million has recently been completed at the site, transforming Simplot Bathurst into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, enabling increased production capacity, and ultimately helping to boost local and export volumes. 

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Logistics Area Manager whilst working collaboratively with the wider Production, Planning & Purchasing teams - the Warehouse Team Leader will:

• Assume responsibility for the execution of daily plans / targets in support of the site production plan
• Lead the daily operations for a team of forklift operators - ensuring a commitment to Simplot safety, quality and sustainability initiatives
• Provide an escalation point for any forklift fleet maintenance issues, liaising with relevant leadership, site maintenance teams / external contractors as required
• Incident reporting & investigation for any safety, quality, sustainability and workplace behaviour related activities
• Assess, train, coach and develop new hires
• Facilitate daily toolbox / prestart meetings - assign daily tasks, organise relief coverage & provide backfill forklift duties where required
• Inventory control activities
• Coordinate staff sales activities

About You

• Possess a 100% commitment to health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a logistics / manufacturing related industry - essential
• Food manufacturing experience is advantageous
• Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills
• Ability to motivate a team, leading by example to aid in team member skill set development
• Intermediate user of MS Office suite of products - SAP experience is advantageous
• Hold a current High Risk LF (Forklift) licence
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
• Possess Australian citizenship or formal permanent residence
