About our role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our Finance team in a permanent part-time capacity (0.6 FTE, 3 days per week). Based on-site at our Bathurst facility and reporting to the Regional Plant Accounting Manager - NSW, this role supports accounting activities across both the Bathurst and Kelso sites.

The role is responsible for supporting cost accounting activities, budgeting and forecasting processes, month-end reporting, financial analysis and maintaining the integrity of standard costing systems. It offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional, recent graduate, or student seeking practical experience within a manufacturing environment. We are looking for a flexible and collaborative team player who is willing to support a broad range of accounting and administrative activities.

Flexible working arrangements are available, with a preference for three consecutive working days where possible, although alternative arrangements may be considered.

What you will do

• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end activities, product costing (including NPI), and financial reporting
• Provide financial insight to site operations and identify opportunities to improve business performance
• Maintain standard costing accuracy, inventory controls, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support Bedrock implementation activities and other finance improvement projects
• Process finance transactions and assist with general accounting and administrative duties
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and relevant legislation
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Bathurst and Kelso sites to support operational and financial objectives
  

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or currently studying towards one
• Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team environment
• Previous accounting or finance experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
• An interest in developing a career in accounting, finance, or manufacturing operations
• A proactive approach to learning and contributing within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
