About Our Role
- Hybrid Vendor Scheduler / Stores role - Ulverstone based
- Permanent full-time position
- Immediate commencement
Here at Simplot, we have a unique opportunity for a Vendor Scheduler to join our Ulverstone Logistics team on a permanent-full time basis. Simplot Ulverstone has a proud history in the local community dating back to 1942, and our location on the banks of the Leven River is ideally situated close to the rich, fertile soils where our potatoes are grown. We process around 300,000 tonnes of potatoes from 165 Tasmanian growers each year, producing high quality potato products that are enjoyed by consumers thoughout Australia. Site capabilities / products include fries (coated & uncoated + different cuts), sweet potato fries, potato gems, and hash browns in addition to 8 x automated packing lines.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Vendor Scheduler will manage & coordinate the ordering of production consumables (ingredients and packaging) and supplier deliveries to meet the Master Production Schedule, in addition to forklift / logistics aligned duties. This Monday to Friday position will work an 0830 - 1630hrs roster, based on-site at Simplot Ulverstone.
What You Will Do
Working collaboratively with both site + external stakeholders - in this hybrid role, duties will incl (but are not limited to);
- Manage the ordering & scheduling of production consumables (product ingredients, poly, cartons / cardboard etc)
- Generate and maintain vendor schedules
- Provide outlook to site on status of consumables orders / delays etc
- Liasons with external consumable Vendors (approx. 10 - 12 Vendors)
- Forklift duties - Unloading of trucks and loading of dry goods into containers
- Receipting of goods
- Exception reporting & expediting goods with Vendors
- Reconciliation of goods
- Cyclic stock counting
- Warehouse general housekeeping
About You
With an operational background in scheduling / planning / logistics, you will possess the following attributes;
- A 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
- Warehousing / stores type experience is advantageous
- SAP / PRMS knowledge is beneficial
- Competency in the use of MS Office suite of products
- LF Forklift licence with extensive operating experience (incl. loading pallets into Dexion type racking)
- A high level of both written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to liaise with, influence and expedite tasks from both internal & external stakeholders
- Be driven to engage in personal development
