About Our Role
Simplot Australia are seeking applicants for the position of Production Operator for casual opportunities at our Ulverstone based manufacturing facility. Simplot Ulverstone processes around 300,000 tonnes of potatoes from 165 Tasmanian potato growers each year and manufactures high quality product within a state of the art, modern plant.
Commencing early November, these critical roles will involve safe operations of fixed plant processing and packaging equipment and will work a variety of day / night shifts (12 hours) across a 7 day roster.
Ordinary rates of $38.35 p/h (incl. of 25% casual loading) + shift loading & penalties.

What You Will Do
- Safely operate a variety of fixed plant process & packing equipment within a busy production environment incl. monitoring of system processes & information / adjusting system settings to ensure quality of product is maintained to the defined standard
- Adhere to GMP and food safety practices
- Meet production plans & targets
- Contribute to continual improvement processes in conjunction with peers, Team Leaders and Area Managers
- Liaise with maintenance team (mechanical & electrical) in relation to both preventative maintenance and breakdowns
- Work within a factory environment that has varying temperatures / noise levels (PPE provided
About You
- Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
- Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role - FMCG experience will be highly regarded
- Mechanical & problem solving aptitude
- Ability to commit to 12 hour shifts (day & night) whilst being on feet for the majority of the shift
- Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures
- Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules
- Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
- Possess positive communication skills
- A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience would be advantageous
- Ability to undertake in-house aptitude testing as part of the recruitment process
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
