Key Responsibilities

  • Researches, analyzes, and reports on competitors’ products and sales practices to senior sales members.
  • This role will be expected to gather, analyze and report on market intelligence.
  • Works primarily within assigned geographic territory to increase sales to established client base. Manages moderately complex sales accounts and transactions.  
  • Works independently to develop new sales accounts within and beyond designated sales territory.

About our role

 

We currently have an opportunity for a State Distributor Manager – NSW to join our Foodservice team on a permanent, full-time basis, based out of our Sydney Olympic Park office.

 

This senior, state-level role is responsible for leading distributor performance across NSW, with a strong focus on commercial outcomes, customer relationships and execution of state and national strategies. The role works closely with internal stakeholders and leads a NSW-based field team to drive consistent, in market execution.

 

The position operates across both office and field, with regular travel throughout metropolitan and regional NSW and the ACT and plays a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of our Foodservice business.

What you will do

 

  • Lead the overall performance of NSW distributor accounts to achieve agreed sales, margin and growth targets 
  • Develop and execute state distributor plans aligned to national Foodservice strategy 
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key distributor partners 
  • Lead, coach and develop a NSW based field team to drive consistent in market execution 
  • Manage forecasting, trade investment and promotional activity at a state level 
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and distribution performance to inform decision making 
  • Work closely with national account, marketing, finance and demand planning teams 
  • Maintain a strong balance between office based planning and regular field engagement
  • Undertake regular travel across NSW, including Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, Newcastle and the Central Coast

About you

 

  • Significant commercial experience within foodservice or a related FMCG environment 
  • Demonstrated success managing distributor or wholesale customer relationships at a senior level 
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, trade spend and joint business planning 
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop high performing teams 
  • Well developed negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills 
  • Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation capability in a fast paced environment 
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across cross functional teams
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related discipline (preferred) 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM or sales reporting systems
