Seasonal DOT Operations Support - Stephen, MN

Summary

Simplot Grower Solutions is looking to fill a seasonal Truck Driver/Warehouse position. Full-time, temporary, position with full benefits and the opportunity for substantial over-time hours. The primary responsibility is to operate trucks, deliver fertilizer and chemicals and assist with plant operations. 

Key Responsibilities

Performs varied responsibilities such as:

• Driving tender truck, ensuring timely deliveries to customers and applicators
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations (pre-trip, load securement, etc.)
• Maintain a clean vehicle
• Maintain safety policy and completing training
• Accurately complete daily pre-trip inspections and notify supervisors of any needed repairs
• May assist with recordkeeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities
• Performs varied responsibilities such as: equipment and plant maintenance including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities 
• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers 
• Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, etc.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Skills & Relevant Experience

• 1+ years related experience and/or training
• Truck driving experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Knowledge of local rural geography a plus
• Knowledge of farm operations a plus
• Experience operating a manual transmission a plus
• Ag background preferred
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks in succession, ie:  blending products together, loading a truck, driving truck to farm

Requirements

• Must hold and maintain a Class A or B CDL, or have the ability to obtain a Seasonal CDL
• Must hold and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate card
• Must pass a DOT/Pre-employment drug screen
• Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements preferred 
• Must be able to lift 50lbs 
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job
• Must be willing and able to work Ag Industry hours, which may include:  early morning, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as Seasonal needs demand
