Farm Supervisor (Rogerson, ID)

Summary
Supervise and coordinate the activities of work crew engaged in the planting, irrigating, and/or harvesting of crops and maintenance of the farm by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates equipment to perform farming functions including but not limited to discing, plowing, ripping, planting, spraying, and cultivating in order to prepare soil and plant crops according to schedules.
- Directs job assignments of farm workers; ensures farm workers and operations comply with established safety procedures and guidelines.
- Performs a variety of maintenance tasks during the winter months to ensure smooth operation of the farm.
- Examines farm equipment for malfunctions; schedules regular maintenance service on farm equipment; performs minor mechanical repairs to equipment and machinery in order to reduce costly equipment downtime.
- Assists inexperienced equipment operators and/or farm workers with new tasks in order to maximize productivity and minimize costs associated with training.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of employee work hours.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of pivot irrigation systems' repair and maintenance.

Must have basic computer skills.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Ability

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Additional Requirements
- This role requires a valid Driver’s License held and maintained in good standing.
