Summary
The role of the Shift Operations Manager will support all shift activities including directing the safety of employees, ensuring the food safety of the produced product, and adhering to all policies and procedures regarding food safety. The Shift Operations Manager will ensure the product is always at customer target specification while driving operational excellence by producing products aligned with hitting direct cost goals. A successful candidate will understand budgeted rates and will have the leadership ability to bring multiple departments together to achieve this goal. Outside of the day-to-day operations the Shift Operations Manager will be heavily involved in Continuous Improvement (CI) projects for the facility and will have targeted CI goals to achieve each fiscal year. It is imperative that the Shift Operations Manager has a deep understanding of recovery and is an integral member of the 24-hour team on workstreams designed to improve overall plant recovery. This role will report to the Plant Director and needs to be willing to work either day or night shifts(on a 12-month rotating schedule).
Key Responsibilities
Directs the health and safety for all employees on assigned shift.
Manages to ensure compliance, fair and consistent administration of the Company policies, procedures and USDA/FDA policies.
Is responsible for supporting, managing, and implementing Food Safety and Product Quality standards.
Conducts oneself in a professional manner, ensures confidentiality regarding sensitive issues related to Company and employee issues.
Manages and coordinates facility activities to ensure performance goals such as quality, sanitation, food safety and customer specification are met or exceeded.
Manages time keeping for assigned shift (currently using UKG software)
Provides training and coaching to direct reports to ensure growth in a healthy working environment. Will also provide coaching in the form of progressive discipline.
Will support continuous improvement initiatives for the facility by supporting projects and managing projects. Continuous Improvement goals will be assigned each fiscal year and will be monitored by the Plant Director.
Typical Education
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university
Relevant Experience
5+ years related experience and/or training
