Summary

The Simplot T&H Supervisor role is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising the locations employees in all facets of day-to-day operations including but not limited to: insuring company safety protocols are adhered to, delivery logistics, general accounting practices, inventory control\product procurement and maintaining warehouse equipment and Commercial motor vehicle operation and service records. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring general safety policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements are met the overall safe operation of the business unit and assigned employees. 
  • Supervises CDL driver work force on logistical operations and general maintenance of the Commercial Motor Vehicle fleet and associated delivery equipment. 
  • Organizes and supervises day-to-day operations and determines work practices and procedures to optimize utilization of resources. 
  • Performs recordkeeping functions and general accounting practices related to inventory, delivery scheduling, product procurement, employee files, etc. 
  • Interface with sales force on product forecasting and general customer requests.

Typical Education

Associates Degree (A.A. or A.S.).  Equivalent experience of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role.

Skills & Relevant Experience

  • Supervisory, planning, organization, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills 
  • General warehousing knowledge/inventory management, Turf & Horticulture knowledge a plus. Proactive in providing customer service and support beyond typical operational needs
  • Analysis and problem-solving abilities to deal with out-of-the-ordinary assignments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
  • Advanced expertise relating to the assigned functional area, in specific technological areas which would include: mechanical, equipment, record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with farming environments, knowledge of chemical and fertilizer requirements and application techniques, knowledge of geographic area including types of crops and farming requirements and cultural practices would be helpful. Incumbents typically have experience in the industry
  • Ability to maximize productivity within a team environment
  • Proactive in providing customer service and support beyond typical operational needs

 

Distinguishing Features: Works independently under general guidelines. Incumbent uses established procedures, customer needs, goals, and Supervisors direction to set priorities.  

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to lift a miniminum of 50lbs
  • Forklift experience 
  • Ability and willingness to work Ag-Industry hours, which may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekend during as dictate by seasonal demands

Wage range or rate of pay: $84,000.00 - $90,000.00  Plus annual incentive plan eligibility
