Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and documentation of sanitation and pest control programs to meet all third-party audit requirements. Maintain expert knowledge of sanitation standards required by auditing organizations and confidently represent facility programs during audits.
- Champion a culture of sanitation excellence by training employees on proper cleaning procedures, sanitation best practices, and the safe, effective use of cleaning chemicals. Utilize a variety of training resources, including local and corporate supplier representatives, to support employee development and program effectiveness.
- Continuously assess sanitation tools, equipment, and resources to ensure they are properly supplied, strategically placed, and operating effectively. Partner with plant leadership to recommend future equipment investments that strengthen sanitary conditions and support long-term operational success.
- Direct, organize, and oversee all sanitation, pest control, and housekeeping activities across production lines, facility buildings, and grounds. Supervise sanitation personnel, coordinate daily activities, and validate program effectiveness through audits, inspections, cleaning verification methods, and available technology.
- Monitor environmental and product microbiological testing results to verify sanitation program performance. Investigate adverse findings, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to quickly resolve issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university preferred but not required.
Relevant Experience
3+ years of training or experience in sanitation in a manufacturing environment.
Other Information
Good understanding of the requirement of an effective sanitation and pest control programs as defined by company expectations or outlined in the standards established in third party auditing criteria. Ability to read, interpret and apply pertinent USDA, Federal and State sanitation regulations. Knowledge or ability to learn and offer good sanitary design recommendations to entire operations group. Good understanding of all pertinent HAZCOM and OSHA requirements and participates in appropriate continuing education training programs to maintain a thorough understanding of all associated regulatory standards and applications.
