About our Role
The Finance Business Partner – Retail is a key commercial role supporting the Retail Sales function through high quality financial insight and strategic business partnering. Working closely with National Account Managers and Sales leaders, the role supports decision making across customer negotiations, pricing, promotions, trade spend and long term planning.
This role partners across categories and customers within the retail channel, providing insight into performance, profitability and investment effectiveness. It plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting and delivery of in year performance ensuring commercial assumptions are robust and aligned to channel strategy.
The role also supports the evaluation of new ranging, promotional and product opportunities, helping shape decisions that drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
What you will do
- Partner with Retail Sales leaders to shape, influence and execute the retail channel strategy
- Provide commercial insight across customers and categories, supporting performance, profitability and long term value creation
- Support end to end customer and channel P&L management through robust financial analysis and strategic challenge
- Lead and support high impact initiatives including financial modelling, scenario analysis and evaluation of pricing, promotions and trade spend
- Support budgeting, forecasting, ensuring commercial assumptions are accurate and aligned
- Assess the financial viability of new ranging, promotional and product initiatives
- Track performance against key commercial metrics and identify opportunities to improve outcomes
- Influence decision making through clear, concise and commercially focused financial insights
- Partner cross functionally across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing to deliver sustainable results
About You
- CA or CPA qualified (or studying towards)
- Proven experience in commercial finance or business partnering roles
- Experience supporting Sales or customer facing teams within FMCG or retail environments
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial insight capability
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively
- Strong relationship building skills with a collaborative, pragmatic approach
- Comfortable operating in a fast paced, dynamic commercial environment
