About Our Role

• Permanent full-time manufacturing opportunities with Simplot Bathurst 
• Starting base rate of $33.56 p/h + shift allowances + OT 
• FMCG production role - work within a busy manufacturing environment
• Mon-Fri roster (8.5hr shifts) - align with day / afternoon / night shift + weekend OT, where available

Here at Simplot Global Food, we're seeking applicants for permanent-full time Production Operator opportunities at our newly redeveloped food manufacturing facility, Simplot Bathurst - the home of the Chiko Roll.

Simplot Bathurst employs over 250 people and having been a part of the local community since 1926, continues to produce Edgell products, as well as products for Birds Eye and Chiko.  An investment of $90 million has recently been completed at the site, transforming Simplot Bathurst into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, enabling increased production capacity, and ultimately helping to boost local and export volumes. 

Reporting to the Production Area Manager, the Production Operator will work a variety of 8.5 hour shifts on a Monday to Friday roster supporting our canned & frozen vegetable lines + snack lines.  Commencing base rate of pay $33.56 p/h with a 15% afternoon shift loading + 30% night shift loading + weekend OT where applicable (weekend OT paid at double time for all hours).

Day shift          0700 - 1530hrs
Afternoon shift 1515 - 2345hrs
Night shift        2230 - 0700hrs

What You Will Do

Working within an industrial manufacturing environment, Production Operator duties will include (but are not limited to);
 

• Contribute to site Safety, Health and Wellbeing initiatives & activities
• Safe operations of fixed plant food processing machinery and high speed packaging equipment
• Cleaning and sanitising of production lines and localised areas of work
• Inspection of incoming raw material for defect
• Loading / replenishing consumables within Packing Area lines
• Adherence to GMP and food safety practices
• Accurate completion of daily shift logs / system entries
• Contribute to site continual improvement (CI) processes and activities

For those candidates with demonstrated forklift experience & a current High Risk LF licence - additional duties may include;

• Safely transport raw material, WIP / finished goods between production areas of the site
• Use of fork mounted RF systems + radio communications
• Operate within our cold store / freezer
• Perform pre-start checks on forklift equipment
• Refuelling gas powered forklifts + changing of & charging spent batteries  for electric forklifts

About You

Possessing demonstrated operational experience with a food manufacturing environment, the Production Operator shall possess the following attributes;

• Possess a 100% commitment to Safety, Health & Wellbeing in the workplace
• Experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role is desired
• Food processing machine experience will be highly regarded
• A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (mandatory for those seeking a role including fork duties)
• Capacity to work to Standard Operating Procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• A high level of both written and verbal communication skills
• Time management skills with the ability to work to production schedules
• Team player mindset with positive communication skills
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
