Semi Driver (Jerome, ID)

Summary

Operates gasoline or diesel-powered flatbed trucks and commodity trailers to safely transport agricultural products—such as feed commodities and other loose or packaged materials. Ensures timely deliveries, follows safety procedures, and maintains a professional, reliable presence on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor/trailer combinations to transport agricultural products, including feed commodities and other loose or packaged materials, on local or long‑haul routes.  

• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, checking lights, brakes, tires, and other critical equipment; report any defects to the Trucking Manager.  

• Refuel and maintain equipment by replenishing fluids (fuel, oil, water), cleaning the truck and trailer, and removing debris to keep equipment in safe working condition.  

• Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations; follow all DOT and DMV safety standards.  

• Assist with loading and unloading to ensure products are handled safely and records are accurate.  

• Support warehouse operations by helping with shipping and receiving tasks as needed.  

• Other duties as assigned  

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.  

• One year of over‑the‑road driving experience or completion of training from a certified driving school; equivalent combinations of experience and education are also considered.  

Key Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret work documents such as safety rules, road signs, maps, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  

• Basic writing skills to complete simple reports or correspondence.  

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.  

• Problem‑solving ability to follow written or verbal instructions and handle routine issues that arise during standard operations.  

• Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs  

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.  

• Must have or be willing to obtain the following Endorsements upon hire  

• • Hazmat Endorsement  

• • Tanker Endorsement  

• • Doubles/Triples Endorsement  

• Must be willing and able to work Ag Industry hours as business needs dictate, which may include:  

• • early mornings  

• • late evenings  

• • weekends  

• • holidays
