Boiler Operator L3

Summary

This job exists to ensure efficient operation of all boiler equipment in the plant. This includes maintenance, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical components. The individual in this job will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the boiler area throughout the plant and have the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and compliance policies/procedures/systems of the company - (C.A.R.E – Commit, Access, Recognize, Encourage) program.
• Commit, comply, support the Simplot Sustainability Strategy and work towards achieving the sustainability targets of the company.
• Be personally present in the boiler operation control room during entire shift to ensure smooth and safe operation of boiler section.
• Operate boiler section through automatic or manual control systems to ensure efficient and safe working of all equipment of boiler section.
• Deliver the required steam supply to the plant with standard efficiencies, quality and within allowable transportation losses in the shift.
• Perform all activities required to keep the boiler section ready for inspection by government or company authorities, whenever required.
• Pass information immediately to the team leader-utility / supervisor assigned during the shift, regarding any kind of emergency related to operation or maintenance of the boiler section.
• Follow all government and company guidelines during any emergency.
• Coordinate with production operators, maintenance technicians etc. in case of any deviation in steam supply from set standards i.e. pressure drop, unplanned stoppage, sudden increase/decrease in steam demand etc.
• Timely execution of predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance jobs as per instructions of the team leader-Utility, with the help of maintenance technicians.
• Get the work permit authorization from the team leader-utility, before starting of any maintenance job. 
• Attend and resolve the assigned maintenance job within the standard time limit set by the company
• Document service records of all equipment of boiler section.
• Fill and submit the shift log sheet to the shift team leader- utility, with required details of boiler operation and maintenance.
• Complete or handover the maintenance jobs carried out in the shift.
• Attend and contribute in the shift handover-takeover meetings between the team leaders along with the utility crew at the end of the shift.
• Actively participate in different programs, trainings & initiatives taken by company time to time.
• Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all processing equipment and tools.

Typical Education

Relevant Experience

2 to 8 years of relevant experience

Required Certifications

Must have completed ITI in electrical / mechanical  on full time basis from recognised academic institute which is approved by UGC or similar accreditation body.

Other Information

• Must have hands on experience of troubleshooting of technical problems related to production & maintenance.
• Experience in greenfield projects preferred.
