Feed Truck Driver - Grand View, ID

SUMMARY

Operates a feed truck in order to feed cattle using established route pattern to ensure consistent application of established feed rations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Feeds cattle on an established pen route; unloads feed truck contents into the concrete feed bunks according to the Feed Boss' instructions.
  • Loads feed truck with proper feed proportions according to the individual ration requirements.
  • Cleans the feed truck; takes the truck to be serviced by Company mechanics.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to managers and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to operate a 10 wheeler truck.
