Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining stock level and inventory records, assisting in the shipment and receipt/issue of goods. The individual in this position is responsible for ensuring the inventory control activities achieve inventory quality, inventory levels, and safety performance in accordance with professional and corporate standards. This includes, but is not limited to, inventory management, and the shipment and receipt/issuance of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate inventory files and records.
- Ensures that all documents are processed in an accurate and timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to, routing, posting, and filing.
- Ensures materials received are reconciled with packing slips and purchase orders, and that these documents are signed, dated, and routed appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Ensures materials issued are posted to inventory records.
- Ensures the shipment of outbound goods is handled according to Simplot’s policies and procedures.
- Ensures inventories are maintained at desired levels and valued accurately. This includes performing cycle counts, as directed.
- Ensures communication (written and verbal) to other plant personnel is appropriate, accurate, timely, and courteous.
- Administers issuance of Simplot-owned tools.
- Ensures that stockroom and office areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.

Relevant Experience
- Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position. Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
- Must be able to apply necessary math skills, such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, decimals, and measurements for calculating discounts and inventory percentages when writing and editing purchase order requests.
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English in a manner to successfully complete job duties.
- Must be able to safely lift, carry, and move items weighing up to forty (40) pounds and push/pull 100 pounds using a dolly.
- Must be able to demonstrate manual and physical dexterity.
- Must be able to work with hazardous and corrosive chemicals in small areas.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to read and comprehend required information, such as purchase order requests, vendor catalogs and resource materials, plant policies and procedures, and MSDS sheets.
- Must be able to effectively communicate on the phone and in person with customers, vendors, supervisors, employees, and maintenance personnel.
