About Our Role
- Experienced HR Advisor opportunity (12-month fixed-term contract)
- Supportive Team Culture reporting to the site-based HR Manager
- Provide an initial point of contact for employee HR related queries
- Based in the picturesque town of Echuca, Victoria
An opportunity exists with Simplot Global Food in the position of Human Resources (HR) Advisor at our Echuca manufacturing facility. Reporting to the HR Manager within a supportive team environment, the HR Advisor will support site-based HR activities across the functions of Production / Logistics /Maintenance & Engineering / Health, Safety & Wellbeing / Accounting /Quality / Sustainability and Continuous Improvement.
Simplot Echuca has been part of the local community since 1978 and is a key manufacturing site within our Australian operations. Employing over 170 people, the site produces a range of well-known brands including Leggo’s, Edgell, Chicken Tonight, Raguletto and Harvest. With the capability to process thousands of tonnes of tomato paste, beetroot and other shelf stable food products each year across multiple packaging formats, Echuca plays an important role in supplying products to major supermarkets and food partners across Australia and New Zealand.
What You Will Do
In this active hands-on, people focused role - the HR Advisor will provide generalist HR support for the delivery of essential employee lifecycle processes including (but not limited to):
• Management of employee queries related to payroll, HR and company policy and procedures
• HR administration, including maintaining HR system changes
• Onboarding & Offboarding
• Provide Industrial Relations advice
• Be part of the Enterprise Agreement Negotiation team
• Assist with site-wide change and communications
• Employee performance management including workplace investigations
• Undertake site-based project activity as directed by the HR Manager
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements whilst adhering to business internal operating procedures
• Participate and contribute to site continuous improvement (CI) activities
About You
Possessing a passion for all things people, you will demonstrate the following attributes / competencies:
- A 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources
- 3-5 years’ experience in a HR Advisor/Generalist role
- Exposure to Enterprise Agreement and Award Interpretation
- Working knowledge of HRMS applications (experience with SAP SuccessFactors is highly regarded)
- Exposure to employee timekeeping / payroll systems is advantageous
- Intermediate to advanced skills across Windows OS and MS Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a balanced and objective approach
- Collaborative and relationship-focused, with the ability to partner effectively across stakeholders
