SWS Store Supervisor

Summary
Works to optimize the output of a Western Stockmen’s retail location. Is responsible for the entire operations, administrative, delivery, and warehouse functions of the location. This includes managing (3-6) people utilizing equipment and products in an efficient and productive manner while providing customer satisfaction and service by affirming indications on animal health, clarifying feed and mineral products and usage and maintaining product availability, prompt delivery, and follow-up service. In addition, is also responsible for community outreach such as, FFA, 4H, and other Ag related groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises all office-related functions to ensure appropriate receipt and record keeping of inventory, invoicing to customers, record keeping of script drugs, receipt of payment and bill processing related to product and operational purchases.
- Receives telephone orders from customers and Sales Representatives.
- Prepares work orders, proper shipping documents and supplies MSDS to customers as required.
- Supervises all products sold at the location and ensures adequate inventory to meet sales and delivery needs.
- Ensures appropriate receipt and record keeping of location inventory.
- Assists the Retail Stores Manager in forecasting inventory needs and preparing for unusual or unexpected inventory needs.
- Assists the Retail Stores Manager in preparing the budget for the location. Supervises operations, equipment, and facility improvements.
- Supervises and responsible for service to walk-in customers and maintaining relationships with company vendors and internal sales representatives.
- Supervises and trains operations, application, delivery, and counter sales staff. Ensures safety procedures are communicated and followed. Ensures training is conducted as needed for specific equipment or as seasonal product changes occur.
- Provides leadership in coordination with marketing area to ensure efficient operations.
- Supervises all warehouse, delivery, and application-related functions to ensure product availability, prompt delivery, and service.
Typical Education
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Relevant Experience
- Five or more years related experience including previous supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of the animal health and animal feed industry and the various products and equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to successfully obtain the Veterinary Drug Test (VDT) license required by the state of Idaho within the first six months of employment.
- Strong knowledge of the animal health and feed industry, including related products and equipment.
- Proven ability to effectively manage teams, assets, and inventory to support the store's Sales and Marketing operations.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 100 pounds.
