Raw Receiving Operator (Crew C) Caldwell, ID

Summary

This position is responsible for the unloading of trucks as they come into the Plant with raw product. The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the Raw Receiving area along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgement when a situation dictates it. It is imperative that the Raw Receiver conducts himself/herself in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and its surroundings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for unloading the raw product into designated bays and bins in an efficient, safe and timely manner.
  • Required to safely pull inspection samples from each truckload. Ensures sampling is conducted according to proper procedures.
  • Required to help maintain good housekeeping in the receiving area.
  • Required to keep an even and adequate flow of raw product from the receiving bays into the Plant.
  • Required to control the pit water and keep proper blend system going as instructed by the team leader.
  • Required to operate all equipment between bays and Form line bins.
  • Required to keep rocks cleared from flumes, clean rock traps, and take potatoes from rock take-away belt.
  • Required to collect and evaluate the elimination and re-elimination sample.
  • Ensures sanitation operations are performed in an efficient manner to meet Company Standards.
  • Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
  • Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
  • Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures and Union Labor Agreement.
  • Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the Company.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and divisional standards.
  • Must be able to complete training on the safe operation of the lift truck and successfully pass and maintain certification requirements. This training and certification are requirements in accordance with both WAC 296-24-230 and WAC 296-24-23025.
  • Must be able to complete training on fall protection and must meet and maintain fall restraint requirements. This training and requirements are in accordance with WAC 296-155-245 through 24525 and WAC 296-24-75005.

Relevant Experience

3+ years related experience and/or training

Qualifications

  • Must be able to safely operate sizing equipment.
  • Must be able to interpret written instructions regarding proper fluming procedures.Ability to direct trucks into the proper bays by matching sample tickets from drivers with appropriate bay location.
  • Must be able to count, add, and measure in inches for the purpose of collecting and evaluating the information on elimination and re-elimination samples.
  • Must be able to communicate orally with team leader, other team members, and shift manager.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move up and down stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.
  • Ability to work in varied environments for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work on slippery surfaces.
  • Must meet the standards on fall restraints as stated in WAC 296-155-24510 Fall Restraint, Fall Arrest Systems.

Other Information

Experience to include understanding of operations, duties in production, knowledge of Raw Receiving, Transportation requirements, equipment performance setup, adjustments, calibrations, alignments. Lift truck license or the ability to obtain. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact well with all levels of employees within the organization. Working knowledge of input into a computer system. The ability to resolve and/or repair routine or serious problems or understanding of when to report to other operators or management. Must be willing to accept a wide variety of job assignments and work under general direction.

Shift: 6:00pm-6:00am 

Wage: 23.47/hourly
