Summary
This position exists to ensure product quality and production levels are achieved and sustained within the Packaging Area. This includes providing electronic and mechanical maintenance, operation, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment in the Distribution/Grading Area from the exit of the freezer tunnels to scale weighing on all assigned lines and the Stretch Wrappers. This position may also assist with the operation, electronic and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of other equipment throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
•Operates and monitors equipment in the Distribution to include, but not limited to, foreign material/defect detection, mechanical sizing equipment and product transfer equipment, within Packaging A Zones 4 and 5.
•Identifies when screen size changes are needed and makes necessary adjustments.
•Manages off grade and overflow product within the day freezer and controls the blending of bulk product.
•Manages totes and tote movement for proper tagging and staging, including tote movement with forklift, within Packaging A Zones 1, 2, and 3.
•Monitors line flow conditions and communicates issues and/or changes to the appropriate personnel.
•Operates and monitors equipment in the stretch wrapper area to include proper tote tagging, wrapping, and all stretch wrapper operations, within Packaging Zone 6.
•Monitors flow at the stretch wrapper and communicates issues and/or changes to the appropriate personnel.
•Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with the appropriate personnel.General Responsibilities
•Must become qualified within 12 months of employment in this position.
•Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs. This includes operating equipment to verify operational efficiency.
•Must be able to drive a forklift and assist with tote management as needed.
•Provides troubleshooting, repair and support on the equipment, instrumentation systems and supporting equipment including most mechanical, some electrical and some electronic aspects.
•Inspects components of the equipment and performs the preventative maintenance procedures.
•Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of the equipment and systems.
•Documents, monitors, maintains, and assists with reporting of shift events, logging Preventive Maintenance data and assists with work planning utilizing information systems and productivity software.
•Enters work orders into JDE, performs work on work orders and requisitions parts in JDE. Follows-up on work orders and closes work orders out.
•Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
•Maintains Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
a.Works within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others.
b.Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all processing equipment and tools.
•Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
•Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
•Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.
Qualitifications
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Six months of full time Forklift operating experience required.
•Associates Degree in basic electronics, electromechanical, manufacturing or food processing preferred.
•Two years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing or technical military assignment preferred.
•Combination of experience and education will be considered.
•Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.
Shift: 6:00am- 6:00pm
Wage: 27.16 hourly
