Summary
The Global Environmental Monitoring Program Lead is responsible for overseeing microbiological monitoring programs across domestic and international manufacturing sites. This includes leading annual environmental swabathons, conducting comprehensive EMP reviews, and maintaining continuous oversight of microbiological data from all global factories. The role supports process capability analysis for new product lines, provides on-demand investigational expertise, and requires frequent global travel to deliver microbiological support across facilities. Additionally, the position directly supports international microbiological laboratories, and China, and leads microbiologist direct reports who provide technical support. The role also serves as a key point of contact for customer interactions related to microbiological and environmental monitoring matters, ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and technical alignment with client expectations. This position ensures alignment with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and global quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Travel for support of Environmental Monitoring Program – EMP Annual Review for all Global Facilities
Statistical Analysis and Trend Identification of Environmental Monitoring Program – all sites - Microbiological analysis review and investigational support, which include root cause analysis and corrective action plans
- Factory capability analysis for microbiological testing expectations against customer specs and global industry standards
- Factory Lab Support, including onsite and remote training, direction, and procedure clarification
- Direct report coaching, mentoring, and oversight
Typical Education
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university
Relevant Experience
8+ years related experience and/or training
Other Information
- Required advanced knowledge of food microbiology and be able to apply to a food processing environment.
- Required to advanced knowledge food manufacturing, hygienic design, and environmental monitoring
- Excellent technical writer with superior communication skills.
- Required to have a statistical foundation and ability to conduct process capability analysis.
- Familiarity with LIMS, Advanced spreadsheet (power query editor, pivot tables, formulation)
