Feedlot Mechanic (Burbank, WA)

Summary
Responsible for ensuring timely, accurate maintenance and repair of equipment. Work includes diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling automobiles, pickups, four‑wheelers, semis, heavy equipment, and related components or attachments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty with competence and consistency.

Work under limited supervision while collaborating with a team to support the daily operations of a busy agricultural shop.

Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools—including lathes, milling machines, boring machines, drills, punch presses, and grinders—to fabricate and repair feedlot and farm vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

Apply advanced skills in heavy equipment repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, engine and hydraulic systems, welding, and preventive maintenance.

Partner with a team of skilled mechanics, as well as management and vendors, to ensure efficient maintenance of the fleet.

Examine vehicles and consult with drivers or the Shop Supervisor to determine the nature and extent of damage or malfunction.

Perform troubleshooting on problem equipment to establish repair priorities and address critical issues promptly.

Inspect completed work to verify that proper parts, procedures, and repair methods were used to resolve equipment malfunctions.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Related experience and/or training in automotive mechanical knowledge
- Farm mechanic experience is a plus
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for the role.
Language Skills
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Additional Requirements
- Must have own hand tools.
