Vice President of Finance, AgriBusiness- Boise, ID

Summary

This role will provide overall leadership for financial reporting and forecasting for the business unit, ensuring reliable financial information is available to help guide business decisions, assuring accurate and timely information are provided to corporate leadership, and serving as a liaison between group operations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), for both domestic and international entities. Provide financial guidance, expertise, and recommendations to Group Management for operational decisions and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership on financial trends, forecasts and issues impacting the business; offer alternatives to assist business in strengthening financial performance. Identify opportunities for improvements and cost savings. Direct and manage initiatives that allow the groups strategic plans to succeed. Provide analysis and counseling around business development including acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
  • Manage the group credit policies and procedures. Support standardization across the company credit function and coordinate with corporate-wide support services.
  • Direct organizational change and process improvements at the group level to support the goals and objectives of the company’s finance function and the group’s strategic plan.
  • Manage, develop and motivate group finance staff, including all group accounting and financial business partnering staff to maintain acceptable performance levels and to develop individual potential.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Simplot Company finance leadership team on topics including global talent strategies, JRS capital allocation, capital structure, and finance systems investments
  • Direct the establishment and maintenance of accounting processes and systems that provide decision makers with reliable and useful accounting/financial information to assist in guiding the business toward financial performance. Ensure adequate internal controls are in place. Provide oversight of financial planning, analysis and accounting for both domestic operations and existing Joint Ventures and International Subsidiaries in accordance with appropriate GAAP.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts Corporate and Group management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Analysis of the results that produces complete analysis and interpretation of operational goals and strategic objectives. Assist in achieving group goals by collecting, analyzing, utilizing key financial, cost, and operational data including all key performance measurements.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

10+ years related experience and/or training

 

Other Information

Knowledge: Strong financial and management accounting background; basic understanding of financing structures; progressively increasing level of finance/cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; broad base business orientation.
