Senior Environmental Programs Manager

Summary
The Senior Environmental Programs Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Simplot's Environmental Management System (EMS). This role drives consistency in environmental programs across the Company's operations through policy and standards development, implementation of robust compliance assurance processes, utilization of environmental data systems, and employee acumen building.
Success in this role requires the ability to establish practical frameworks for environmental program implementation, work collaboratively with other team members, and leverage data analytics to identify trends, evaluate risks, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and track requirements associated with Company specific environmental policies, standard operating procedures, and work practice standards.
- Develop, track, and report on key environmental performance metrics.
- Implement the Company’s global environmental assessment program including development and refinement of compliance questionnaires, management of the long term and fiscal year assessment schedules, execution of compliance assessments with support from the permitting and compliance assistance team, monitoring closure progress for assessment findings, facilitation of root cause analyses for assessment findings in key risk areas, provide guidance on development of sustainable corrective actions and quality review of completed corrective actions intended to resolve assessment findings.
- Oversee and guide utilization of Enablon, Simplot’s EMS software, to track environmental compliance obligations, environmental events, and assessment performance. Utilize data stored in Enablon to communicate environmental performance and identify key risk areas.
- Collaborate with other Environmental & Regulatory Affairs team members to develop environmental guidance packages for regional environmental programs, environmental programs with key risk indicators, and emerging regulations.
- Support employee acumen building through mentorship in strategic problem solving, regulatory understanding, and risk management.
Typical Education
B.S. Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related degree programs
Required Experience
- At least 10 years of work experience in environmental compliance and/or permitting programs with strong knowledge of key environmental compliance areas (RCRA, CAA, CWA, etc.) for manufacturing, mining, and industrial operations.
- Experience with Environmental Management Systems, environmental auditing, and use of environmental software.
- Must be able to work professionally with all levels of Company personnel and be able to communicate risks appropriate to the audience.
