Summary

The SAP Planning and Data Solutions Lead is responsible for driving the design, implementation, and optimizationof enterprise planning and data integration solutions across Simplot’s Green Field SAP S/4HANA transformation.This role is central to our 5-year journey to modernize business processes and enable data-driven decision-makingthrough best-in-class SAP technologies.

 

This position blends deep functional expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud Planning, SAP Datasphere, and other SAP Data Products with strategic leadership in business process transformation. The role will collaborate withbusiness leaders, mentor junior consultants, and manage system integrator (SI) resources across geographies todeliver scalable, integrated planning and data solutions.

 

As the deployment scales, this role offers the opportunity to expand into broader leadership responsibilities,building on the success of initial phases.

 

* This position will be based in Boise, ID onsite.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Build and Implementation

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the configuration and deployment of SAC Planning and Datasphere solutions.
  • Manage SI and internal resources to execute build and test cycles using agile methodologies.
  • Design and oversee master data structures and data flows within Datasphere to support planning and analytics use cases.
  • Integrate SAP Data Products with SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise systems to enable real-time planning and reporting.
  • Advise business leads on process changes and planning model impacts.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation and clean configuration across SAC and Datasphere environments.
  • Train project team members and end users on SAC Planning and Datasphere functionality.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to planning and data integration.

 

Support Go-Live

  • Develop and execute cutover plans for SAC Planning and Datasphere components.
  • Provide hands-on support during go-live to ensure successful adoption and performance.
  • Partner with change management and business teams to drive user engagement and solution adoption.
  • Monitor data flows and planning model performance post go-live to ensure stability and accuracy.

 

Establish the Run State

  • Design the support model for SAC Planning and Datasphere, including governance, maintenance, and enhancement processes.
  • Manage handover to operational support teams and ensure continuity of service.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics for planning and data solutions, and establish continuous improvement cycles.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university in Business, Information Systems, or related field.

Relevant Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP functional roles, with at least 2 years focused on SAC Planning and/or Datasphere.
  • Experience with SAP Data Products such as SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud, or SAP RISE is highly preferred.

Other Information

  • Proven experience in SAP Analytics Cloud Planning and SAP Datasphere implementations.
  • Strong understanding of planning processes, data modeling, and integration with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Familiarity with SAP Data Products and their role in enterprise data architecture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing SI resources.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with agile project delivery and SAP Activate methodology.
