Summary

This job is responsible for producing and communicating 24-month S&OP pack plans each month. These plans must be aligned with available resources, customer service, sales demand and company strategic initiatives for both short (13 week) and long (24 month) time horizons. This job is a subject matter expert on PPIC’s planning and scheduling systems, understanding their limitations, configuration and capabilities while providing training and support to the department. This job is also responsible for handling the day to day maintenance and set up of these systems and ensuring that we are using them to best suit the business needs. The job also provides problem solving support where initial plans may not meet business objectives. This job responsibilities, include actively supporting and participate in S&OP, (particularly with reference to information management and reporting) and providing strategic insight into optimizing the Supply Chain. The incumbent is responsible to complete tasks with limited review and supervision. As the company proceeds with major strategic initiatives already in progress, the responsibilities of this position will evolve accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and conduct all monthly S&OP Pack Plans using mixed integer data models (including pre planning and post planning review meetings), that will form the basis of the crop sanctioning, annual budget and LRP processes. 
  • Perform analytical quantitative & data mining assignments to further develop tools to support S&OP and Supply Chain initiatives such as sensitivity & scenario analysis, using the software to compare/contrast changes to the production landscape. Challenge & improve current decision processes & reporting tools to achieve better efficiency via integration, for all PPIC Departments. Expand use of the software to project warehouse capacity, inventory reporting, etc. Provide analytical support for exercises such as inventory safety stock reviews, economic production runs, etc.
  • Collaborate with JRS IT groups to identify, develop and deploy new tools and techniques to better leverage existing software and improve decision making. Build continuity between the modeling database and data warehouse to provide a solution to further support ongoing analysis in the area of Supply Plan, Standard Costing and financial analysis.
  • Understand the software and maintain it to ensure that we continue to derive the optimal pack plan and schedule to meet our potentially changing business needs.
  • Assist with the resolution of plan infeasible solutions with PPIC Staff, and provide feedback through the S&OP process on manufacturing limitations and opportunities. 
  • Provide technical assistance to assist the finite scheduling group with generation of the Master Production Schedules. Maintain the integrity between the monthly and the finite scheduling arena ensuring all rules and production metrics are updated on a timely basis to ensure the long-range plan is implemented accordingly. 

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

3+ years related experience and/or training

Required Certifications

Preferred certifications, but not required:

  • APIC Certifications 
  • CSCP
