Internal Auditor

Summary

With assistance of other team members, conducts or assists in the performance and documentation of simple to complex internal audit projects. Depending on experience, could be tasked to act as a project leader on internal audit projects regularly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviews of different processes across the organization to understand risks involved and audit the internal controls in place to mitigate those risks for effectiveness and operational design
• Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness of the audit program, recommends changes and improvements as appropriate
• Determines proper accountability of assets through physical count, inventory and confirmation
• Reviews and/or prepares and submits reports on the results of audits, recommending improvements in policies and procedures and reports any irregularities or exceptions to internal audit management prior to submission to top management or the Audit Committee
• Audits the accounting and statistical data of various departments, divisions, and locations in order to verify accuracy
• Audits the activities of various departments for compliance with plans, policies and procedures prescribed by management
• May be asked to assist in business application and system development reviews to ensure accurate controls are developed and maintained
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with others across the organization
• Assist in quarterly risk meetings with senior management
• Continuously assess risks that could impact the company through routine business updates, research of industry specific risks, and routine data analysis

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

• 1-3 years of audit experience preferred for Internal Auditor
• Strong analytical and data analysis skills (Power Bi a plus)

Required Certifications

• Desire to pursue CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA,
