HR Technology & Innovation Specialist - Boise, ID

Summary

As a key member of the People Services team, the HR Technology Specialist strategically partners with HR stakeholders and IT to deliver data-driven systems and process efficiencies which enable strategic objectives and business needs to be met.

 

This role effectively and collaboratively manages key HR technology systems and initiatives to maximize business outcomes and strengthen organizational efficiencies through the development, enhancement and maintenance of end-to-end system processes throughout the employee lifecycle. Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills are critical to overseeing and implementing strategic solutions across the business. The position also manages the development and ongoing maintenance of key HR technology process documentation and training resources available to employees, managers, and HR teams globally.

 

The HR Technology Specialist establishes a reliable partnership across global HR serving as the first point of contact for technology solutions. They must be proficient in documenting and prioritizing CoE-driven requirements to support strategic IT resource allocation across HR technology initiatives. They engage with external partners and vendors as needed to obtain information on behalf of, or in partnership with, the CoE for the purposes of planning for short-term priorities and long-term objectives over several fiscal years ahead. Further, they provide timely communication to IT of approved HR technology projects so that accurate budget estimates can be requested to account for work to begin in the planned for fiscal year.  

 

The team has adopted an agile approach which flexes to varying levels of involvement and ownership based on the category and scope of work. The contribution to a project, enhancement, maintenance item, or interface will adapt to what is required at each stage—whether evaluation, implementation, testing, or delivery. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills to engage business partners across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and plan for all HR technology system maintenance updates and other operational requirements.
  • Implement system upgrades including upgrades and enhancements which improve functionality and efficiency.
  • Administer HR systems to ensure system uptime, data integrity, and security protocols.
  • Ensures HR technology complies with all relevant laws and company policies.
  • HR Technology administration and planning through collaboration across HR and IT by working closely with teams to integrate systems and ensure security.
  • Provides training, communication and other support. Ensures system compliance to all workforce regulations and data protection laws.
  • Trains employees and administrators on the use of HR systems and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
  • Leads HR system upgrade projects and system integrations.  
  • Ensures the security and integrity of HR systems through regular audits, maintenance troubleshooting and system issue resolution. 
  • Evaluates and benchmarks HR technology with vendors, industry experts, and external organizations to ensure the regular innovation and continuous improvement of HR technology, systems and processes at Simplot.
  • Ensures they are knowledgeable about the latest HR technology trends and ensures the company’s HR technology remains relevant and effective.
  • Develops and maintains user manuals, communication and guides related to HR systems and technology. 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 
  • A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or Certified HR Professional (SHRM-CP) certification (or similar) is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications & Abilities

  • 5-years minimum relevant work experience in an HR technology administrator (or similar) role is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and proven in-depth experience with SAP SuccessFactors. 
  • Experience with ADP Payroll and UKG Timekeeping is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR technology system configuration and administration, data security and management, reporting and analytics, and system security.
  • Demonstrated experience balancing technical expertise with effective customer service and consulting skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills, excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, and a keen attention to detail.
