Summary
Under minimal supervision, this role serves as a trusted financial advisor and strategic business partner to North America (NA) Supply Chain Fleet Operations leadership. The position is responsible for leading all financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and month-end close activities for Fleet Operations, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable financial information that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities include management of month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, audit readiness, and financial compliance. In addition, this position leads a team of Accounting Assistants responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, carrier payments, and billing functions, ensuring efficient transaction processing and strong financial controls.
Working closely with leaders across Transportation, Warehousing, Deployment, Raw Procurement, Plant Operations, and other Supply Chain functions, this role provides ad hoc financial analysis and decision support for strategic initiatives, capital investments, cost-saving opportunities, and operational projects. The position also champions continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancement opportunities, improving financial systems and reporting capabilities, and driving greater efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across the supply chain organization.
Over time, responsibilities may expand to support additional areas within the NA Supply Chain organization.
This hybrid role requires a regular presence at both the Boise Headquarters and Fleet Transportation offices, typically consisting of 3 days in Boise and 2 days in Caldwell, with flexibility based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assure compliance with Food Group, Corporate and governmental accounting regulations and policies by developing, directing and implementing programs and systems in accordance with company policies.
- Develops and maintains processes and procedures to ensure operational reports, financial reports and other analytical information and systems are accurate, timely and informative.
- Works closely with Fleet management in the development of financial budgets and forecasts.
- Performs accounting activities, including the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for the Fleet.
- Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports.
- Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly across multiple systems.
- Manages a small team of Accounting Assistance that supports carrier payments and billing functions.

Typical Education
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
- 5+ years related experience and/or training
Other Information
- CPA, CMA, MBA preferred.
- This is a senior-level position to the Supply Chain Finance job family requiring a comprehensive understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles. Work is varied and complex. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
