Summary
The Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis team is responsible for the consolidation, analysis, and effective communication of the forward-looking financial information of The JR Simplot Company. This information is used by the Simplot Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and other senior stakeholders to understand the financial outlook of the organization and make decisions such as capital allocation, debt financing, acquisition/divestiture, and response to the economic environment. The team is also accountable for the company-wide capital planning and approval process and business partnering for the Global HR, Finance, Information Technology and Data Services teams.
As a member of the Enterprise FP&A team, the Business Partnering Director EFP&A is a visible, collaborative leader across the global services and business unit finance teams at Simplot
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate consolidation of financial forecasts provided by business unit teams monthly. Insightful analysis of forecast risks, opportunities and change relative to budgets and prior plans in collaboration with business unit FP&A and controllership teams
- Work with Sr. Director EFP&A, CFO and Sr. Leadership on the preparation of materials for the Board of Directors, Simplot Leadership Team, Executive Committee, and additional internal/external stakeholders
- Assessment, scoping, and implementation of new software applications in Simplot’s SAP ecosystem, including Sap Analytics Cloud. This will include financial statement planning, headcount/workforce planning and expense planning. Maintenance and improvement of existing technology and data standards regarding essential financial information
- The administration and continuous improvement of monthly, quarterly, and annual planning processes that may include consolidated forecasting, working capital planning and analysis, capital markets planning, Enterprise KPIs, workforce planning, forecast accuracy analysis and decision support
- Update and communicate of EFP&A Policies and Practices across the organization, including Workforce Planning, Expense Planning, & Financial Planning.
Typical Education
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
- MBA, CPA or CFA preferred
Relevant Experience
- 10+ years related experience and/or training
- Effective performers will demonstrate initiative, mental acuity, agility, strong management skills and good judgment.
- A process mentality and experience working in Sales and Operations Planning management systems or IBP is valuable.
- The ability to direct, organize and execute through numerous indirect teams is essential.
- The role requires proficiency in financial modeling techniques and principles, strategic ability to understand the business issues and opportunities for a multi division food and agriculture company,
- The ability to identify and accurately assess internal and external business risks, exceptional communication skills, and proven project leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of modern information technology architecture, data management, and implementation methods is helpful.
