Demand Planning Analyst III- Boise, ID

Summary

As a demand planning analyst for the Simplot Global Food Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team, you will be in a strategic role that stretches your analytical expertise and your relationship building abilities to successfully work across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Project Management, and Supply Chain. You will use quantitative data analysis and market intelligence to recommend adjustments to customer demand forecasts and predict sales trends. Eliminating bias and reducing forecast error are our key metrics for success, but you will also be called upon to run complex scenarios and present data and recommendations in a way that will effectively enable our business leaders to make the best decisions possible. Successful incumbents will quickly build relationships and establish themselves as a trusted Supply Chain advisor to the business and position the company to meet the future demands of our customers. Must reside in Boise, Idaho or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Sales and Marketing in developing formal analysis on the external environment and ensure resulting assumptions are integrated into the demand plan.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planning teams to approve or reject potential new sales opportunities.
  • Run time-series statistical modelling to keep forecast assumptions in check.
  • Assist Sales in quantifying customer service level goals which are used to calculate safety stock targets and optimize the use of working capital.
  • Coordinate Pre-Demand Management Review distribution and analysis of monthly forecasts and facilitate the review process with Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure the effective update of Demand Planning metrics.
  • Assist in the development and management of product prioritization and allocation plans in conditions of constrained supply.
  • Assist with regular user training sessions for relevant S&OP processes.
  • Quickly analyze, create, and communicate possible scenarios for how to achieve business goals with stakeholders.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business, Statistics, and/or Data Science preferred) from a 4-year college or university.
  • Preference given to master's degree and/or APICs certification.
  • Preference given to Oliver Wight training or knowledge of IBP best practices.

Relevant Experience

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience (Supply Chain, S&OP, IBP or data science roles).
  • Preference given to Logility or SAP IBP tool experience.

Other Information

  • Strength in basic Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with confidence in advanced tools like SQL, Power BI, Access, and Logility a plus.
  • Statistical modeling knowledge and experience (time-series modeling & cause and effect modeling).
  • Storytelling and relationship building.
  • Ability to manage time and meet tight, but consistent deadlines.
