Summary

The Communications Assistant supports the delivery of communications, employee engagement and change-related initiatives across the Global Food business. Working closely with members of the Communications, Change and Employee Experience team, the role provides coordination, content production and administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of communication campaigns, employee experience activities and business priorities.

 

The role is responsible for maintaining communication channels, coordinating content and production activities, supporting employee engagement initiatives, awards programs and community sponsorship activities, and providing operational support that enables the effective delivery of team objectives across the business.

 

This is full-time onsite at our Simplot Headquarters in Boise, ID.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development and Publication: Develop, format and publish engaging content across Global Food communication channels, including intranet pages, newsletters, digital signage, email communications and social media platforms. Create communication materials that are accurate, visually appealing and aligned with business priorities. Maintain the communications content calendar and coordinate publishing schedules to support timely and effective communication across the business.

 

Communications Campaign and Project Coordination: Support the delivery of communications, change and employee engagement initiatives by coordinating project activities, timelines and communication deliverables. Assist with content production, stakeholder coordination, approvals and distribution of communications to ensure campaigns and projects are executed efficiently and consistently across the Global Food business.

 

Employee Engagement, Recognition and Community Programs: Coordinate the delivery of employee engagement activities, recognition programs, communications awards, leadership events, town halls and community sponsorship initiatives. Manage associated communications, logistics, registrations, nominations and stakeholder engagement activities to support participation, employee connection and positive community outcomes.

 

Communications Governance, Brand Management and Channel Operations: Act as a custodian of the Global Food brand by maintaining communication standards, templates, collateral, business profile documents, photography, video assets and other communication resources. Ensure communication materials are brand-compliant, current and aligned with corporate visual identity and messaging requirements. Manage the ongoing administration and effectiveness of Global Food communication channels, including intranet governance, distribution lists, communication asset libraries and reporting processes. Coordinate monthly communications reporting, monitor channel performance and engagement metrics, and identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness, audience reach and user experience.

 

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Experience Details

  • 1+ years related experience and/or training 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging and accurate content for a range of audiences and communication channels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, and experience using Canva or similar design tools to develop professional communication materials.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain content calendars and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain brand standards and ensure communication materials, collateral and business profile documents are accurate, consistent and visually aligned with corporate requirements.Experience in photography, video production and editing would be advantageous, along with an interest in storytelling, employee engagement and corporate communications.
