Welder (Vernal, UT)

Summary

This role provides a variety of maintenance services for the mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding repairs on all types of mobile equipment
• Fabricate from blueprints
• Perform welding and fabricating tasks outside of shop area, i.e. in mining pit
• Operate borewelding and lineboring equipment as assigned
• Operate mine equipment as needed to facilitate welding repairs and/or fabrication
• Prepare and present safety tips and safety meetings, and participate in site safety program
• Housekeeping duties (work areas as assigned)
• Prompt and regular attendance and safe work performance required
• Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures and government regulations

Typical Education

• High School Diploma or Genaral Education Degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

• 3+ years experience

Other Information

• Good written and oral communication skills; legible handwriting
• Ability to work well with people and be a team player
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, ability to climb stairs, climb on and off heavy equipment, work at elevated heights and in cramped quarters, bend and stoop, kneel, crouch and twist, walk on uneven terrain, work outside in adverse weather conditions and safely perform the essential functions of the job
• Must have working knowledge of all welding, cutting, and fabricating equipment
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to design and fabricate structures as required
• Ability to use basic math, trigonometry, and calculator to figure simple problems
• Knowledge of metals and filler metals
• Must be willing to work all shifts and overtime as required
• Valid Utah driver’s license or ability to get one
• Proven record of prompt and regular attendance
• Proven record of dependability and safe work performance
