About our Role

Simplot Australia are seeking applicants for seasonal casual opportunities at our Devonport based frozen vegetable processing facility.

Reporting to the Process Area Manager, these seasonal roles will commence mid-February 2023 and run through until approx. July 2023 whilst working across a 24 hour (day / afternoon / night) Monday to Sunday roster.

 

  • Casual rates of $37.01 p/h + shift allowance + penalties (where applicable)
  • Fully supplied & laundered uniform
  • Boots & PPE provided
  • 8 hour shifts
  • Training provided in role

 

What You Will Do

Working to process a variety of vegetables incl. broccoli, cauliflower & brussel sprouts - duties will include (but are not limited to);
 

  • Safe operations of vegetable processing fixed plant & equipment
  • Intake
  • Quality inspection
  • Foreign object removal
  • Sorting / separation
  • Grading
  • Monitoring of lines
  • Contribute to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and quality initiatives
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
  • Clean down of plant & equipment + general work areas
     

About You

 

  • Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
  • Prior experience within a production role or food processing is beneficial but not essential
  • Ability & willingness to work over a 7-day roster inclusive of day / afternoon / night shifts (shifts are 8 hours in length), and to be adaptable to operational needs at short notice
  • Available to start mid-February and to work for the duration (approx. 5 months) of our brassica season
  • Ability to undertake repetitive manual handling tasks whilst standing for long periods of time
  • Possess a strong work ethic and display strong and positive communication skills
  • LF Forklift licence would be advantageous
  • Willingness to undergo aptitude testing assessments as part of recruitment processes (completed in house).
  • Be willing to undertake a full pre-employment medical (incl. urine-based D&A screening)
