About Our Role

• Canteen Cook based at Simplot Devonport's on-site canteen / cafeteria
• Permanent part-time position - 30 hours per fortnight
• Immediate start
• Base rate of $30.98 p/h

Simplot Global Food are seeking applicants for the role of Canteen Cook(s) to be based at our Devonport frozen vegetable processing facility - Simplot Devonport has a proud history in the local community, with the site opening in 1942 and employing generations of Tasmanians.  These permanent part-time positions will work 30 hours per fortnight block, providing a full range of breakfast & lunch meal options + site catering at our on-site canteen, with a focus on hygiene and providing a high level of customer service.

Hours of Work
Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Wed 0700 - 1300hrs
Week 2 - Thurs, Fri 0700 - 1300hrs

What You Will Do

• Assist with cooking and food preparation for daily service
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and canteen areas
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment
• Provide catering to internal functions and events as required
• Follow the canteen food safety management plan
• Serve meals in a friendly and efficient manner
• Use of cash register and EFTPOS facilities
• Adhere to strict Food Safety and Hygiene practices
• Contribute to canteen continuous improvement initiatives
• Comply with Safety, Health and Wellbeing policies and procedures

About You

• 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
• Passionate about preparation of quality meals - experience in a canteen or cafe environment would be advantageous
• Possess excellent customer service skill set
• Numerical competency with the ability to use a cash register / EFTPOS terminal
• Realibility with the ability to work independently when required
• Ability to undertake a pre-employment medical (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
