Summary
The Receiving operator will oversee the functions in the receiving area as well as the operations of the potato peeler.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the receiving area to make sure that is a steady stream of product entering the plant. Resolves or reports any issues that arise.
- Assists with all receiving duties including truck unloading, machine attending and clean up of the receiving area
- Operates potato peeler equipment inside the plant. Observes that product is meeting specification.
- Assists with cleaning and sanitizing industrial processing equipment.
- Assists other production operators as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Typical Education
High School Diploma / GED
Relevant Experience
- 1 to 2 years work experience in the food processing industry preferred
Other Information
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions. May work in refrigerated or freezing conditions
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety shoes, rain coat, pants and gloves for cleaning
- Ability to stand for 10-12 hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend and stoop
- Ability to climb steps and ladder
- Ability to work with an around industrial chemicals and cleaners
- Ability to work day and night shifts, weekends and overtime
