Summary

This job is responsible for the operation of the formed product line.  The Formline Operator’s primary responsibility is to produce budgeted volumes while maintaining optimum product quality with regard to product attributes and additives.
The individual in this job will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the formline area along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.  In addition, the Formline Operator is responsible for all equipment on the formed product line (with the exception of formline peeler) from the blancher through the fryer, up to and including the oil system.  The Formline Operator is responsible for adding and mixing additives, performing free fatty acid tests, maintaining and recording temperatures of all equipment in this work area, insuring correct oil type is used for the product being produced, entering and changing data in the computer system, and sanitizing the work area.  It is imperative that the Formline Operator conducts oneself in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness to one’s surroundings and the safe operation of the equipment.

• Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with the appropriate personnel.

Typical Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Relevant Experience

Combination of experience and education will be considered.

Skills:

• Must have basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program. Must have manual dexterity in both hands.

Abilities:

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.
• Must be able to perform various types of math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
• Must be able to tell time and read a standard and digital clock.
• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
• Must be able to accurately measure weights and volumes.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs to shoulder height in a safe and proper manner.
• Must be able work with and around hazardous chemicals while wearing the appropriate PPE (full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves, and face shield).
• Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and at heights and climb stairs and ladders.
