About our role

 

  • Accelerate your career in our Sensory team, working within a supporting team environment
  • Drive the process of sensory & consumer science research 
  • Provide direction to New Product Innovation (NPI or NPD) and Non-NPI (NPD) teams 
  • Reporting directly into the Sensory Science Team Leader

What will you do

 

  • Design and participate in Front End Innovation Sensory & Consumer Science methodologies to capture the Voice of Consumer
  • Work with team to develop and expand our external Product Review Club. 
  • Represent Sensory & Consumer Science team on allocated New Product Innovation (NPD) projects and maintain records
  • Manage and maintain allocated sensory research briefs. Plan and carry out pre-sensory planning (PSP) for sensory evaluations
  • Provide research design, develop and finalise questionnaires, analyse (statistical analysis), interpret and report findings for in-house and external sensory research, seeking team leader’s review
  • Maintain accurate and compliant technical and data information
  • Use own knowledge and guidance from Team Leader to provide sensory & consumer science expertise, advice and service to the business
  • Ensure food safety is validated prior to serving the products to respondents for sensory evaluation
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S requirements. Sensory panel management – including accurate recruitment/filtering of panellists for each research. 
  • Comprehend sensory & consumer science project research objectives and fulfil expectations of key stakeholders
  • Identifying innovative opportunities and keep abreast of new technologies, emerging trends in sensory research.
  • Communication and escalation of project progress/issues to sponsors and other stakeholders i.e. project milestones, road blocks

About you

 

  • Previous experience within Sensory & Consumer Science research in food industry.
  • Preferably some experience in statistical analysis using sensory statistical programs preferably XLStat
  • Some experience with EyeQuestion and EyeContact software would be  preferable, however not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. 
  • Accurate, with good attention to detail and organised 
  • Food Safety / HACCP 
  • Labelling and Food Standards Code
  • Tertiary qualifications in Sensory & Consumer Science, Food Science / Technology, Applied Science or a related discipline
