About our Role

 

We currently have a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented person to join our team as our Revenue Planning Manager. Working with key stakeholders, based at our Mentone head office, this role is responsible for the improvement of our financials through the development of our price and promotional strategies. As the Revenue Planning Manager, you will coordinate the development and delivery of a 3 year strategic revenue management agenda across key categories and channels; achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for Simplot and Key Customers.

What will you do

 

  • Develop and manage our 3 Year Strategic Revenue Management strategy and development of Long Range Plans, working with category, sales and marketing
  • Effectively utilize the key pillars of revenue management including: Price, Pack, Mix, Promotions and Trade Investment 
  • Review category price architectures to assess gaps or overlaps in our portfolio and highlight opportunities &/or risks for Simplot
  • Work with Category Business Teams to explore opportunities to grow profitable segments, while making less profitable segments more profitable through revenue strategies
  • Developing pricing and promotion strategy recommendation for new products
  • Evaluate and review market pricing, both shelf and promotion, and assess opportunities to move prices
  • Lead the Revenue Management stream of the Annual COP plans 
  • Recommend and plan the required list price increases needed to achieve business results, cognisant of cost and commodity movements 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure strategies are realistic, achievable and achieve the broader business targets
  • Execution Governance to ensure optimum price and promotion delivery  
  • Lead the promotional post evaluation routine and lead course corrections 
  • Collaborate with Sales to develop the Customer Selling Story for key revenue management initiatives  
  • Use multiple data sources such as profit pools, Quantium, panel data, shopper tracker and scan to build compelling, fact based selling stories for strategic revenue management initiatives

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience in revenue management and pricing analytics, preferably within an FMCG environment. You will be tertiary qualified in Business and have strong financial acumen and a strategic mindset.  You will be a self-starter who can identify opportunities, develop strategy and drive change. Your interpersonal skills will be a strength and this allows you to develop strong cross functional relationships and effectively influence stakeholders. High attention to detail is needed in this role, as is a solid analytical background.
