About our role

  • Manage our logistics network of 3PL warehouse and transport providers 
  • Ensure best in class order fulfillment to our customers
  • Based at our head office in Mentone with flexible working arrangements

 

An exciting opportunity is now available for a motivated leader to join our logistics function as the Customer Logistics Manager, based at our Mentone head office.  Reporting into the Logistics Operations Manager, this position holds the responsibility for the coordination of all physical logistics to ensure timely order fulfilment to our Australian retail and foodservice customers.

 

This role manages and leads a high performing team delivering customer service excellence and value to the supply chain.  It provides the interface in the supply chain for the storage and handling of products, and all outbound functions of the supply chain between the sales and manufacturing divisions of Simplot and our customer base.

 

Through leadership you will drive value by reduced logistics spend, improved on-time and accurate delivery and operational excellence. In addition, this role is responsible for continuous improvement projects to optimise the logistics network and ensure we are at the leading edge in operational efficiency.

What you will do

  • Management of distribution, storage and warehousing providers.
  • Negotiate service levels with Simplot logistics service providers.
  • Build value-adding relationships with Simplot's customers.
  • Seek best practices for warehouse and transport performance.
  • Lead and develop a logistics operations team.
  • Provide logistics solutions for both new business opportunities and incorporate them into the current supply network.

About you

  • Proven leadership of a team and ability to influence people and outcomes.
  • Ability to understand and analyse warehouse and transport cost drivers.
  • Substantial experience in managing 3PL warehouse and transport providers.
  • Experience of process improvement and lean thinking.
  • Experience in developing strategy.
  • FMCG experience.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Experience in contract negotiation.
