About our role

 

A great opportunity exists for a Credit Analyst to join our Accounts Receivable team, a high performing team of 6, reporting into our Accounts Receivable Team Leader. This is a full function credit role, managing a mixed ledger of Simplot major accounts and Food Service Customers. 

 

The purpose of this role is: 

  • To ensure accounts are maintained in accordance with the Credit Policy, while identifying any financial risks and minimising the exposure to bad debts. 
  • To ensure claims are resolved and actioned in line with credit terms
  • The Processing of Retail, Food Service and SFT claims and also promotional claims for retail 

 

There will be some interstate travel required in the role, 2 – 3 times per year. 
 

What you will do

 

  • Enhance cash flow and minimize bad debts through effective collection strategies and precise payment management, while closely monitoring overdue accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships, ensure accounts are clear to facilitate payments, and provide timely communication regarding payment issues
  • Oversee direct deposits, allocate payments daily, reconcile accounts, resolve claims, ensure policy compliance, and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for improving payment recovery and recommend adjustments to credit terms, while supporting organizational values 
  • Foster a positive team environment, work in a high performing team, offering support where required 
     

About you

 

  • Experience in a Credit Analyst / Accounts Receivable position 
  • Understanding of basic mathematics, accounting methods, reconciliations, cash management and foreign exchange
  • Experience working with confidential documents and maintaining confidentiality 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Some experience with PC and Business applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook and ERP system 
  • Experience with JDE and SAP advantageous, but not required 
  • Experience within FMCG preferred, but not essential 
  • Attention to detail
