About Our Role

Simplot Australia are seeking applicants for the casual positions of Production Operator to be engaged at our Bathurst based food processing facility.

With multiple intakes for our corn from mid November to early December, these critical roles will involve safe operations of fixed plant processing equipment across a variety of day / afternoon / night shifts during our Mon-Sat operations, 8 hour shifts. Candidates who possess prior food processing, packing or harvest experience are welcomed, however if you don't have this experience but feel you are up to the challenge of Production Operator role with Simplot Australia we encourage you to apply whilst ensuring to outline your suitability for the role within your covering letter & resume
 

• Ordinary hourly rates of $37.12 (incl. of 25% casual loading) + shift loadings & penalties (where applicable)

What You Will Do

Production Operators
 

• Work within our process or packout teams on the intake, inspection / quality control, processing and packing of freshly harvested corn
• Operate a variety of fixed plant processing equipment incl; cob saws and packing machinery
• Adhere to site safety and operational policies whilst contributing to continuous improvement processes

Forklift Operators
 

• Safely transport processed product between our production areas and cold stores
• Use of fork mounted RF systems + radio communications
• Operate within our cold store
• Perform pre-start checks on forklift equipment
• Adhere to site safety and operational policies whilst contributing to continuous improvement within our processes

About You

• Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
• Ability to work across a variety of 8 hour shifts (day / afternoon / night) over a 7 day roster
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role - FMCG experience will be highly regarded
• Have a high standard of mechanical & problem solving aptitude
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules
• Ability to work proactively unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
• Possess positive communication skills
• A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (mandatory for forklift operators)
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
• Available to commence late November / early December 2023
