About the Role


Simplot Australia are currently seeking applications from suitably certified and experienced candidates for the role of Maintenance Electrician to work with our Engineering Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis at our Kelso food manufacturing plant.  Working across a rotating roster (incl. some weekend work) - this is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to demonstrate a high degree of competency in the industrial electrical trade.

Duties will include (but not limited to the following);

 

  • Ensuring plant and equipment is maintained as per the maintenance schedule whilst maintaining safety and maximising production requirements
  • PLC and electrically controlled systems fault finding, programming and connections
  • Working in conjunction with other on-site trades (mechanical fitters + contractors) to ensure overall job scope is completed to a defined, high standard
  • Participating in continual improvement processes
  • Application of operational standards and procedures
  • Generous hourly rates of $42.76 p/h + shift loadings & allowances (where applicable)

About You

 

  • Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
  • Hold a current NSW Electrical Licence (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated diagnostic, fault finding and trouble shooting skills
  • Experience with fixed plant electrical works
  • Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics (advantageous)
  • Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated maintenance experience within an FMCG industry plant (highly desirable but not essential)
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability
  • Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills
  • Intermediate user of Windows-based systems and software
  • Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
