Research Technician - Grand View, ID

Summary and Responsibilities:
- Collection, organization, and analysis of data relating to in house/contract research, feedlot production, and cow-calf production for the Simplot Land & Livestock Group.
- Organize and maintain dairy heifer, feedlot, and cow/calf health and performance records.
- Assist protocol and compliance.
- Assist to develop budgets for in house/contract research projects.
- Quality control of fine details of research and other projects
- Sample collection, preparation, and submission
- Field data collection
- Veterinary assistance
- Monitor and troubleshoot data systems including software and hardware packages.
- Prepare and maintain electronic equipment. ie GrowSafe, Tenxsys, etc.
- Summarize and document project results.
- Participate in genetic evaluation and assisted reproductive technologies.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- 3-5 years experience in agriculture preferred, with emphasis on data collection and statistics; general livestock background
- Excellent computer skills including Excel spreadsheet, access data base, pivot tables and graphs.
- Detail oriented, organized, ability to communicate clearly with work crews and management.
