Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Branded Beef Merchandiser to join our Simplot Branded Beef Inside Sales team at our Kuna, ID Plant. The ideal candidate will be career-driven, team-oriented, and eager to grow in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Management: Oversee sales, inventories, and forward positions of assigned commodities to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
Account Development: Collaborate with the field sales team to develop new accounts and elevate existing accounts up the value chain.
Pricing and Negotiation: Work with margin management to negotiate contract pricing, spot sales pricing, and maintain customer relationships through effective selling techniques.
Market Monitoring: Maintain and develop sales opportunities while adhering to credit, quality, and cash risk limits; monitor domestic and international markets, and negotiate prices, specifications, and delivery details.
Growth Identification: Identify growth opportunities by leveraging existing assets and discovering new opportunities in target markets.
Relationship Building: Cultivate long-term relationships with customers, third-party vendors, and end users to enhance and expand sales.
Logistical Support: Provide logistical support and customer service for established customers to ensure all requirements are met.
Market Communication: Communicate market trends and information to ensure timely and quality market insights.
Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategic plans to ensure growth and profitability.
Business Development: Seek out new customers and opportunities through research, data analysis, networking, and cold calling.
Data Analytics: Utilize and understand data analytics, relaying findings to customers and internal team members.
Production Laison:  Work with field sales and customers on new product specs, codes, and descriptions.  Stay abreast of all production schedules.  Work with production to assure the product is being produced to the Simplot specifications. 
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Education

BA/BS degree preferred in Agricultural Business, Animal Science, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.

Relevant Experience

Minimum of 4 years in protein or commodity-based product sales; beef experience strongly preferred

  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel as business needs dictate.
