Summary
The Electrical Technical Lead is a primary member of the electrical department team, this lead is accountable to the Maintenance Manager and Electrical Supervisor.
This individual must have a working knowledge of safe work practices, plant equipment, trouble shooting and repair procedures, and equipment installation under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisors, and other members of management. Technician will ensure production equipment is properly configured and set to desired controls to assist with meeting desired operational efficiencies and goals.
The individual in this position will possess a working knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance concepts and procedures, plant equipment maintenance practices and procedures, as well as perform electrical technical training. The individual must be able to perform electrical repairs and installations under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Manager.
The individual in this position will oversee the quality of electrical and provide Electrical Supervisors direct feedback on that quality. They will evaluate after the fact actions, as well as in-progress maintenance, ensuring quality standards are met and proper procedures followed and utilized. The Electrical Technical Lead will stop improper maintenance procedures, provide training, and report the situation to the Electrical Supervisor. The individual in this position will also provide direct input to the maintenance team in the search for constant improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures there is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies.
Food Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Attend and participate in all training activities for the position. Ensure the acquired skills and knowledge are applied.
Ensures sanitation of equipment and housekeeping of the entire facility.
Ensures self-compliance with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Must be a team player and help to meet operational goals.
Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures that personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the Company.
Performs all such other duties as may be reasonably assigned by Manager.
Identifies and performs preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment throughout the facility:
Maintains all shop inventories, tools and shop equipment.
Creates, performs and completes work orders in the system as assigned or as needed, prepares kitting when necessary.
Coordinates or schedules additional work as needed.
Identifies parts needed for work to be done, conducts inventory searches and locates parts.
Troubleshoots and makes minor and major repairs of equipment, including automation systems, in order to prevent or minimize equipment and machine downtime.
Inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Assembles, installs, tests, or maintains electrical or electronic wiring, instrumentation, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
Documents, monitors, maintains, and assists with reporting of shift events, logging Predictive Maintenance data and assist with work planning utilizing information systems and productivity software.
May assist Engineering and others in developing plans for electrical and automation systems for capital and other projects.
Assists with design and layout of electrical and automation systems.
Tests electrical systems or circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as VOMs, or oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Maintains Company standards for quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
Works within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others.
Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all processing equipment and tools.
Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures that personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the Company
Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
May assist with training other plant personnel.
Must be able to work with a third party contactor.
Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office.
Perform and oversee the plant thermography program
Performs thermography on selected equipment
Updates thermography analysis program to graph results, identify trends and initiate corrective action
Perform maintenance follow ups to ensure correct procedures are being utilized and completed maintenance meets expectations and quality standards. Report findings the Maintenance Supervisors and Manager
Both in-progress (over the shoulder) and completed maintenance actions
Typical Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Other Information
3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position. Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculate percentages to make proper adjustments and calibrations, as required.
Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English in a manner to successfully complete job duties.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to demonstrate manual and physical dexterity.
Must be able to work with hazardous and corrosive chemicals in small areas.
Must be able to tell time and be able to convert regular time to military time.
Must be able to use a computer and successfully navigate through various applications. Must be proficient at computer system data entry.
Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.
Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
Must be able to work in extreme environments (cold, hot, humid and slippery). Must be able to work under challenging conditions such as hot and cold air, wet environments, hot and cold water, hot oil, slick floors and work around various industrial chemicals; inside and outside the plant in a safe manner.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to identify hazards and report to appropriate personnel.
