About our role

  • Manage stock to meet the Master Production Schedule
  • Manage fresh raw material and non-fresh packaging stock status 
  • Located in Echuca, in regional Victoria

 

We now have an opportunity for a Vendor Scheduler / Inventory Controller to join our team at our food production facility in Echuca - a 3-hour drive from Melbourne and set within the gum trees of the iconic Murray River. 

 

This role is a pivotal part of the production team, ensuring that all materials (ingredients and packaging) are on site and on time to enable the production plan to be met and critical for successful supplier delivery to production requirements and continuous improvement of internal management processes.  

 

The Vendor Scheduler needs to display attention to detail, be forward looking and react promptly to changes in either the production plan or the vendor schedule. This needs to be combined with the ability to multi-task, whilst you support reception and administration duties which include non-stock procurement and general office support. 

What you will do

  • Reporting to the Production Planner, you will manage the ingredient and packaging stocks to meet the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in line with company “Class A” policies and site Material Requirement Planning (MRP) procedures.  
  • You will also coordinate the receival of supplier deliveries and inventory control and, ensure maintenance of accurate information relating to stock status of raw materials and packaging.

About you

  • You are an experienced logistician across inventory control and vendor scheduling within a Food or FMCG manufacturing environment.  
  • You are experienced in operation and implementation of MRPII systems and hold a strong knowledge and understanding of production processes and Class A principles.  
  • Experience using business systems is essential, including Microsoft Office Suite, JD Edwards or similar ERP systems. 
  • Time management and problem-solving capability is also critical to identify opportunities to further optimise the vendor schedule, reduce waste, reduce cost and support the achievement of Class ‘A’ targets.  

 

This opportunity includes a career plan where you may be seeking succession to the Master Scheduler and Production Planner opportunities in the future.  Immediately however, you will be required to work closely with the team to ensure that materials and ingredients are delivered to the site to support the delivery of the Production Plan that will ensure your success.
