Intern Warehouse Operations - Caldwell

Summary:

This position will give a student the opportunity to be exposed to the Western Stockmen’s production and supply chain operations.

This internship opportunity is designed to provide a realistic job preview and lay the solid foundation necessary for future employment in warehouse and retail operations. This is an opportunity for a student to learn firsthand about the various requirements needed to work within a supply chain and retail operations environment in the Animal Health and Feeding industry.

Essential Functions/Projects:

• Ensure appropriate receipt and recordkeeping of inventory.  Perform physical inventory counts and update inventory daily to keep accurate count.
• May operate heavy equipment when needed. Receives and may physically unload product into the warehouse. May operate forklift and other equipment as necessary to maintain warehouse.
• Performs related duties such as transmitting information via computer concerning inventory, shipping containers, and storage availability.
• Entry of products received into the central warehouse each day; and of transfers sent out daily to each SWS store location. Accurately pull and check transfers and orders being pulled for locations and customers.
• Invoicing
• Assist with managing outdates to and from the retail locations.
• Will have the ability to assist in the retail store operations as well as provide sales assistance.

Duration:

This is an ongoing Internship throughout the summer months and into the school year.
Requirements:

• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Currently enrolled in an accredited university and completed at least freshman year with an emphasis in supply chain management.
• Valid driver's license
• Desired is an animal science background or some experience within in Agriculture
