Summary

Simplot Grower Solutions is looking to fill an Operations Support position in Burlington, CO. Full-time position with full benefits and the opportunity for substantial over-time hours. The primary responsibility is to assist with daily plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under general direction, performs a variety of job responsibilities which may include delivery of fertilizer and chemical products to customers from the Unit office, equipment and plant maintenance work, and fertilizer blending.
  • May assist with record keeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
  • Performs varied responsibilities such as: equipment and plant maintenance including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities; loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers; operating equipment to blend fertilizer; monitoring product application by calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling application rates, and cleaning and storing equipment after application process; receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions.
  • Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, etc.

Requirements
  • One plus years related experience. Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation.
  • Ability to do a variety of tasks in succession, i.e., blending products together, loading a truck, and driving the truck to a farm.
  • Licenses: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Education: Less than high school education. High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Flexible-Adaptable: Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed.
  • Manufacturing Equip: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including its safe usage, maintenance and storage.
  • Materials Handling-Management: Knowledge of materials used in the manufacturing process and of safe practices for physical management of raw and/or hazardous materials.
  • MFG Safety: Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
  • MFG Standards Policy Process: Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes.
  • Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Plant Security: Knowledge of tools and techniques for preventing and addressing theft of assets, theft of information, vandalism, sabotage and other threats to a manufacturing facility.
  • Problem Management Process: Knowledge of and ability to identify a problem and use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
  • Transportation: Knowledge of all major means of transporting materials and goods to and from the manufacturing facility and associated safety and documentation requirements.
