Summary

The Wholesale Sales Specialist position is a part of the broader Wholesale sales team, playing an important role in supporting the Area Sales Managers (ASM).  This role will assist with the development of sales and marketing plans to help our sales team meet their objectives.  This role is a unique opportunity to gain tangible sales experience within the Ag Fertilizer, Industrial Chemical, Animal Feed, and Silica sand businesses as well as valuable exposure to the functional support areas, including marketing, demand planning, sales and operations, transportation, and finance.  We will provide ample development, training, and support to prepare the Sales Specialist to take on additional responsibilities within the organization and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with ASMs to understand local market dynamics, competitors, product need, sales volume opportunity, and logistic constraints. Continually seek out and pursue opportunities to enhance process effectiveness and efficiencies

  • Assist ASM with meeting forecasting accuracy targets and work with Sales, S&OP, Transportation & Supply Chain to help ensure right product in the right place at the right time

  • Be actively engaged in promoting and helping drive sales with priority emphasis on of focus products

  • Work with the ASMs to conduct analysis of the current customer base, products sold, and identify additional opportunities to optimize our business with our customer base

  • Build relationships and collaborate with various internal departments to accomplish key initiatives and complete day-to-day operations

  • Research & assist in development of sales tools, marketing information, supply programs & processes

  • Act as a backup point of contact for ASM’s as identified and needed

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university (Consideration for the successful candidate will include a combination of education, training, and/or experience)

Relevant Experience

  • 3+ years related experience and/or training
  • Agriculture experience is highly preferred
